Attempting focus stacking

Journal Entry: Thu Jun 11, 2009, 8:31 AM
I thought I would try something new and try to gain a new skill. A friend of mine has been encouraging me to attempt focus stacking macro images. I had a few attempts yesterday but was not satisfied, but I quite like todays images. So thought I would share them.
I used CombineZM to stack them, very easy program to use.

Open day at Planet reptile

Journal Entry: Tue May 26, 2009, 4:10 AM
We had our official open day yesterday so I thought I would post a few images.
We had a fantastic day with lots of friends from around the country and met lots of new people too.
Steve Backshall came along for a few hours and it was a pleasure chatting with him again, he really is such a nice guy and incredibly knowledgeable.
Our good friend Nerys brought along a few of her exotic animals to make it an even more memorable experience for people, including a skunk, ferret, hedgehog and coati mundi.

New frogs & Photography days

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 1, 2009, 9:31 AM
New arrivals
I think some of you may be fed up with seeing pics of my Red eyed tree frogs by now, so you may be pleased to know that I have new frogs. I have a pair of Bird poo frogs(yes really!) and 6 captive bred baby Flying frogs, so be prepared for lots more frog images as I become more addicted to keeping frogs.
I also have several new species arriving later in April, so I will be spoilt for choice.
I will also be spending some time at our reptile shop in Bristol, capturing more varied reptile photographs.

Photography days
This Saturday I have around 18 people coming along from a photograph group nearby, over the course of the day to photograph reptiles. This will be a tester to see how well it all goes.
I have lots of ideas and props to keep everyone happy, with a large variety of creatures from Preying mantis, to frogs, snakes, skinks, chameleons, spiders and geckos etc. WE are spreading it out with groups of 6 people for two hours each, and two or 3 of us helping out by setting up for the shots.
If all goes well then I am going to start offering Reptile, amphibian and invert photography half days on a regular basis, in a secret new location from June onwards, mainly on weekends for a small fee to cover the cost of using the room and access to the animals and their homes, plus props.
